Type 1 Diabetes Advocacy Action Alert

Dear JDRF Supporter,

Will you take a moment to say you want $150 million of diabetes research funding to continue?

Recently, we asked you to contact your Members of Congress to urge them to renew the Special Diabetes Program (SDP). The issue is now even more urgent. While a lot is happening right now with healthcare reform in Washington, time is running out to renew the SDP. In just a few days, funding for this critical research program that is improving the lives of people with T1D will expire — unless Congress takes action to renew it, just as it has done on a bipartisan basis before.

We need you to again make your voices heard by filling out this quick action form to send a message to your Members of Congress. Even if you’ve contacted Congress previously on this issue, we need you, your friends, and your family members to do so once again. We need to keep the pressure on.

The Special Diabetes Program is bringing the T1D community better treatments, advances in prevention, and getting us closer to a cure. The program will stop unless Congress takes action.

The SDP is a priority for us, and together we need to make its renewal a priority for Congress. The program has broad bipartisan backing — 75 Senators and 356 Representatives signed a letter of support last year — and that’s thanks to the voices and hard work of JDRF Advocates like you.

We’ll keep pushing Congress to provide a multi-year renewal of this vital program. We need you to join us. Click here to use our action form and send your personalized message.

Thank you for your continued support.

Cynthia Rice
Senior Vice President, Advocacy & Policy
